Jordan and Erika were married at the beautiful Hideaway at Royalton Riviera hotel in the beautiful Mayan Riviera. I was honoured when they asked me to be their Mexico Destination Wedding photographer and we travelled to Cancun and spent an amazing week with the two of them along with about 30 of their friends and family. It was a super fun bunch of people and Lindsay and I were welcomed in to their group with wide and open arms. We may have spent a few late nights and one too many shooters with them, but the highlight of the week was their amazing wedding day. They were married in a beautiful gazebo overlooking the ocean as well they planned a perfect beach side reception that included a crazy dance party as well as a flair bar show. Guests dined on steak and lobster, a lovely candy bar was open to guests and a crazy fun photo booth was busy all night. The best way to tell Erika and Jordan’s wedding day story is to share some of my favourite photos from their wedding day.
Here is what Erika had to say about her Mexican Destination Wedding.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
What was your first dance song?
Our first dance song was the same song I walked down the aisle too. We liked how only a portion of the song was played during the ceremony, followed by the entire song being played at the reception.
What was your favourite/best part of your wedding day?
Jordan- seeing Erika walk down the aisle
Erika- having my uncle Raymond marry us in honor of my father!
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms?
Don’t fret over the small stuff, especially on the big day! No matter what, it will all be beautiful and perfect in the end! And for both bride & groom, remember to take a moment together to sit back and just enjoy everything that’s happening just for the both of you.
Any vendors that you would love to recommend?
Definitely a bartender show! This really got our party started!
Sending a BIG, BIG, BIG Thank you to Lindsay Hood for travelling to Mexico with me, spending the week in paradise and photographing this amazing wedding.
